A Music Venue with drinks  - not a bar with music

Green Heron Ale House

Ale House – Cider House – Wine Bar

Unbeatable atmosphere, music and Stokes County's first Craft Ale House. Also featuring select wines and hard cider.

It's the perfect place to celebrate a great day at Hanging Rock State Park, a mountain bike ride at Moore's Springs Trails, a climb on Cook's wall, or to cap off a kayak or canoe paddle down the Dan River.

wine

Select red and white wines, both local and international, by the glass and by the bottle.

We stock several wines from our closest winery, Younts Wine Farm, in Walnut Cove, NC, for our guests who appreciate going local. We also serve excellent vintages from the world's great wine-making regions.

We enjoy learning about wine as much as we do craft beers and hope you'll find something new and special in our selection.

more on the way!

Singer - Songwriter - Story Teller

Tyler Nail, a native of King, NC, has been a fixture of the Piedmont music scene for many years as a performer, songwriter, producer, and, most recently, as a story-telling teacher. Three albums of original work - mostly with the recently disbanded, Tyler Nail Trio - and a long list of other credits are testament to this young but artistically mature music man.
Make the trek to Hanging Rock for this special Friday performance - and meet this story-telling songwriter in his native environment on the Dan River.

Singer - Songwriter - Story Teller

Tyler grew up in Watertown, CT and moved to North Carolina in 2003 for college. During his college years, Tyler spent a lot of time listening to indie bands like Guster and Dispatch. Today, he is heavily influenced by the resurgence of folk/bluegrass and blues from bands like Mumford and Sons and The Black Keys, respectively. Tyler is affectionately known by his bandmates as Big Sug partially because he signs the checks, and partially because he has a tendency of sounding like The Man.
The band plays weekly in the Carolina's. Their sets consist of half original music and half a mix of popular music from the past fifty years.
